  • Ecosystem - the living and nonliving things in an area interacting with each other

  • Food Chain - the path of the energy in food from one organism to another in a ecosystem.

Nonliving Things

Pattern of Feeding


  • Animals eat plants - the energy of plants is passed to the animals

  • These animals are then eaten by other animals

  • Then these animals, in turn, may be eaten

  • Each time, food energy passes from one living thing to the next
