The wood frog is native to many parts of the United States and Canada. The habitat is primarily forested areas including freshwater wetlands and woodlands. Their coloring is usually brown, tan, or rust and have a dark eye mask. Wood frogs have an interesting characteristic in that they can freeze. During winter hibernation this frog will freeze solid as a rock. In the spring, they thaw and come back to life. Play the following videos to learn more about the wood frog. |
