Helping Verbs

Helping Verbs


  • Verb phrases are verbs that are made up of several words.


  • The main verb is the most important verb in a sentence. Without it the sentence would not be complete and would make no sense.


  • A helping verb is one that comes before a main verb and adds to its meaning.


    Verb Phrase = Main Verb + Helping Verb
